KJ Lee, Finance Director 
KJ joined Burson-Marsteller in August 2011 as a finance director. Prior to working with B-M Korea, KJ also worked at Gap Korea, Edelman, SingTel and Levis. A fan of the sea, KJ loves scuba diving but also love to be at home with her 15 years old dog. Most importantly, KJ believe grabbing a drink with friends is one of the prime joys of life.







Eugene Han, Senior Associate
Eugene joined Burson-Marsteller in August 2011 and currently specializes in providing PR strategy for Ford Motor Company and Bayer. Eugene boasts expertise across strategic consulting and PR activities including marketing communication, public affairs, CSR and issue management. She has worked across a variety of fields ranging from consumer goods to public affairs. Eugene loves to stay fit by practicing contemporary dance and yoga.


Jiwon Shin, Associate

Jiwon currently handles global PR activities and strategic planning for LG Electronics’ Marketing Public Relations team. In addition, Jiwon works on advisory projects related to HMH. Prior to joining us at Burson-Marsteller, Jiwon worked as the Marketing Communication & Sales Assistant at Tyco Electronics, a US based multi-national company. At Tyco Electronics, Jiwon oversaw general marketing activities including market research, event organization, and interfacing with partners such as Samsung Electronics, LG, and HP. In her spare time, Jiwon collects interior design books and loves watching Home and Garden TV, as she is passionate about interior design and decoration.




Yoojin Lee, Senior Associate
Yoojin joined Burson-Marsteller in September of 2011 and is specializing in marketing communications activities for LG Electronics Mobile Communications. Throughout her career, Yoojin has worked with a variety of clients in implementing PR strategy including Facebook, Sony Korea and BMW Korea. Yoojin’s expertise lies in working with global companies to enhance their reputation amongst Korean stakeholders. Having grown up in tropical Indonesia, Yoojin enjoys outdoor activities including swimming and playing golf.




 

Euna Cook, Client Executive
Euna joined Burson-Marsteller in May 2010. Prior to coming to the Seoul office this past July, Euna worked in the Corporate/Financial Practice at Burson-Marsteller in New York. Currently she is supporting global PR activities and strategy planning for LG Electronics. Euna graduated from the University of Pennsylvania where she received a bachelors of arts in communications and art History. Euna is devoted to staying fit, and in her free time she likes to run, she also enjoys cooking and spending time with her friends and family.






Kiyoon Kay, Client Executive
Kiyoon joined Burson-Marsteller as an intern in June 2011 and rose quickly to become a Client Executive. Specializing in corporate PR, Kiyoon currently works with FedEx and Bayer.  Kiyoon has an international background having lived in Vancouver for 11 years, and he also enjoys sports and particularly loves  to play basketball. 




Ayoung Jang, Client Executive
Ayoung joined Burson-Marsteller in September having previously worked as a strategy consultant. Ayoung studied economics at the University of Toronto and international management at the Graduate School of International Studies at Yonsei University. Ayoung is currently working across corporate, healthcare and technology companies to increase visibility both within the Korean market and abroad. A snow bunny at heart, Ayoung loves to snowboard in the winter months.  







Hyunjoo Ko, Client Executive
Hyunjoo joined Burson-Marsteller in August 2011 with an academic and industry background in marketing. Hyunjoo is particularly skilled in new business development having worked at the mobile marketing strategy team at Hyundaicard, and Coupang, a social commerce company, as a founding member. Hyunjoo has worked across product, corporate, and SNS marketing public relations for a variety of companies. At her core, Hyunjoo has a strong gastronomic spirit and takes great pleasure in enjoying a delicious meal.

제시카 고메즈와 함께한 2012 여수세계박람회 호주관 홍보행사 

살아있는 바다, 숨쉬는 연안을 주제로 열리는 2012 여수세계박람회에 참가하는 호주관의 활동적인 홍보를 위해 버슨마스텔러가 내놓은 수많은 아이디어 중에 하나, 유명인사를 홍보대사로 임명하기 미션,.

그 첫 번째 미션을 호주 수영 아이콘인 이안 소프와 성공적으로 끝낸 후, 이에 탄력 받아 두 번째 후보로 지명된 홍보대사는 바로 제시카 고메즈. 도대체 제시카 고메즈가 호주와 무슨 상관인지 궁금해 할 수도 있지만 알고 보면 제시카 고메즈는 호주에서 태어난 호주인이라는. 바다를 모티브로 한 여수세계박람회에 참가하는 호주관 역시 ‘In Harmony with the Ocean’을 주제로 하는지라 바다와의 ‘Connection’을 만드는 것이 가장 중요한 미션이었다. 
 
호주관은 이번 여수세계박람회를 통해 비교적 덜 알려진 호주의 해양문화와 자원에 대한 대대적 홍보를 노리고 있다. 사실 호주 하면 우리는 아웃백이나 캥거루를 생각하지 “바다”를 떠올리지는 않기에 우리는 모든 행사마다 호주의 바다, 해안을 연상시키는 그림을 만들어야 했다. 그래서 생각해 낸 아이디어는, 호주의 여름 바다를 서울로 가져오기!



첫 번째 홍보대사 이안 소프는 수영선수라는 맥락에서 의미를 부여할 수 있었고 또 내년 런던 올림픽을 위해 귀환한다는 입장을 때마침 이안 소프가 밝혀 더더욱 미디어의 관심을 받을 수 있었다. 호주 기업인 블랙모어스의 이안 소프 초청 행사와 일정이 딱 맞아 바쁜 와중에도 ‘Goodwill Ambassador’로 역할을 충실히 해준 이안 소프 덕분에 호주관의 첫 공식 행사는 여수엑스포 참가 계획과 홍보대사 이안 소프의 임명 발표로 매우 훌륭한 성과를 이룰 수 있었다. 

하지만 두 번째 홍보대사 제시카 고메즈는 사실 가장 최근 한국에서의 활동도 모 채널의 스타들의 춤 실력을 뽐냈던 프로그램에서 뛰어난 솜씨를 보여주었던 것 외에 한국에서 미디어의 관심을 받을 수 있을지 미지수…해서 우리 BM은 제시카 고메즈가 호주인이고 퍼스에서 태어나 자랐다는 점, 그리고 호주의 아름다운 해안 풍경을 함께 연결시켜 호주 해변의 크리스마스 비주얼와 제시카 고메즈가 함께하는 여수엑스포 호주관 홍보행사를 어필시키기로 결정했다. 

이안 소프의 성공적 미디어 커버리지 결과 때문에 클라이언트인 호주 외통부의 호주관 운영팀의 기대치는 이미 높아질 대로 높아진 상태, 그리고 애초에 미디어의 관심도에 대한 미지수 때문에 제시카 고메즈의 행사를 소규모로 기획해 자체적으로 행사 진행 후 기사 및 사진을 배포할 예정이었으나, 우리가 제안한 아이디어 중에 클라이언트의 ‘I like the beach concept, how about inviting the media?’ 말에 확대 된 기획안과 액션플랜. 

미디어 라운딩, 배포할 일반 보도자료 작성. 사진부 배포 보도자료 작성. 초청 기자 리스트업. 보도자료 배포 기자 리스트업. 제시카 고메즈 홍보 행사에 함께 동원될 펭귄 마스코트 제작 과정 체크. 홍보대사 임명장 제작. 제시카 고메즈 사인회 시 필요한 여러 물품 준비… 행사가 월요일로 잡혀 금요일 미디어 라운딩 돌고 주말까지 마지막 체크를 위한 호주팀의 바쁜 일정 속에 드디어 시작된 제시카 고메즈 홍보대사 위촉 행사!! 

월요일 출근길의 심한 정체를 우려해 호주 대사관의 나탈리에게 새벽부터 제시카 고메즈를 픽업하라 한 덕분에 9시까지 대사관으로 도착해 준 제시카 고메즈. 생각보다 너무 예쁘고 무엇보다 성격이 너무 좋고 착하여 무려 4시간의 행사 시간을 힘든 내색 하나 없이 웃음을 보여준 덕분에 추운 날씨에도 불구하고 행사가 치러진 교보빌딩 앞은 오전부터 북적거리며 제시카 고메즈를 보기 위한 사람들로 줄이 길게 세워졌다. 
 
우려했던 미디어의 관심도 포토콜 행사 30분 전부터 분주히 도착하는 사진기자들을 보며 싹 날라갔다. 사인회 시작 전에 홍보용으로 마련한 호주 에코백은 선풍적인 인기를 끌었다. 심하게 무거운 펭귄 탈 때문에 괴로워한 펭귄 아르바이트 분도 예쁘게(?) 웃으며 손을 흔들어 준 덕분에 제시카 고메즈와 펭귄 그리고 호주 대사의 사진이 미디어에 훌륭하게 잡혔다.

New appointments bring additional expertise in Asia-specific branding and crisis management


Burson-Marsteller, a leading global public relations and communications firm, today announced the appointment of Martin Roll and Hoh Kim as Senior Advisers in the firm’s Global Strategy Team.
 
Martin Roll, author of Asian Brand Strategy, brings more than 20 years of experience in the international advertising and consulting industry. Roll is a frequent guest lecturer at INSEAD, Nanyang Business School, China Europe International Business School and other global business schools and is also a sought-after public speaker. Hoh Kim is one of Asia’s leading authorities on crisis communications and has provided guidance and counsel to Asian and global multinationals. An acknowledged thought leader in his native Korea, Kim is a regular commentator and columnist for leading Korean business publications. Their complementary skills in reputation development and protection provide additional sector-specific expertise to the Global Strategy Team.

Martin Roll is a recognized international authority on leadership, strategy and branding.  Based in Singapore, Roll advises senior executives, corporate boards and management teams from the largest companies in Asia and on the Fortune 500 on connecting business and brand strategies to create value, increase shareholder returns and strengthen market position. Roll has particular expertise on brand strategy and communication in an Asian context.  His book on the topic was listed among the best business books of 2006 by strategy+business magazine.
 
Hoh Kim is the founder and head coach of THE LAB h, a Korean consultancy that provides leadership communication coaching and crisis counsel to senior executives and government officials.  In his 14 years of experience providing strategic communications counsel, Kim has worked with a wide range of clients, including Korean non-profit organizations, healthcare and consumer electronics companies and multinational finance institutions.  Formerly Managing Director of Edelman in Korea, Kim is co-author of the best-selling Cool Apology, a scientific approach to corporate and leadership apologies, which was included in the Korean Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s ‘Books of Excellence’ List for 2011.
